I have been a qualified and practicing massage therapist since 2007 following the completion of a diploma in Holistic Therapeutic Massage with Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology.
Immediately afterwards, I went on to study with Jing Advanced Massage & Training where I completed a course in Foundation Holistic Medical Massage. This course single handedly changed my practice and sparked my passion for working with and helping people suffering from pain.
I was taught how to incorporate volcanic basalt stone therapy into my massage practice following the completion of a workshop with Rosslyn Alternatives and both myself and my clients find the stones a very beneficial tool for the treatment of chronic muscle pain and fatigue.
I have graduated with diplomas in Sports and Remedial Massage Therapy in 2012, Advanced Remedial Massage in 2015 and most recently in 2016 with the highest level of massage training available in Scotland, Orthopaedic Massage & Manipulation. I chose to study for these 3 years with the Advanced Massage Techniques School who are affiliated with the Scottish Massage Therapists Organisation.
Over the years I have also trained in Functional Cupping and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Manipulation with Sports Therapy Scotland.
To complement my work as a massage therapist, i decided to complete my Pilates Teacher Training with Brigid McCarthy Pilates in 2019. I enjoy using both approaches, assisting and empowering people to build confidence and strength whilst helping them find their way out of musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction.
In December 2021, I completed my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training with Seasonal Yoga.
Seasonal Yoga is about working with changing energies of the seasons both around us, and within.
