Indian Head Massage has been in existence in various forms for thousands of years.
The traditional art of Indian Head Massage is based upon the ancient system of medicine known as Ayureveda which is Sanskrit for ‘the science of life and longevity’.
The Ayurvedic element of Indian Head Massage is introduced through the inclusion of chakra balancing, which aims to bring balance and harmony between the energy centres of the throat, forehead and crown.
In practice it is a seated, fully clothed massage treatment that consists of a flowing sequence of massage movements to the upper back, shoulders, arms, hands and then working up through the neck, scalp and face. It can also be tailored to be incorporated into the end of a Remedial or Therapeutic Massage.
